My philosophy of computer education is based upon the idea that each child is unique and needs to be stimulated in a
nurturing environment. At the middle school level the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social aspects
are key to having a proper nurturing environment. The teacher's role is to provide a clear example and be a
guide, all the while allowing the child's curiosity and intrigue to direct his/her learning, and promote respect
for all things and people in the learning environment and outside in the world as well. Computers allow the student to
explore their curiosity and develop a deeper knowledge through self exploration, for assignments and for enjoyment purposes
as well. One of the key concepts I also hope to instill in students is the ability to work cooperatively in any setting successfully.
Ideally, through this self-discovery it will build the students love for the technology and what can be learned from proper
use and application. Teaching students allows me the opportunity to constantly continue my learning and in the process,
hopefully instill lifelong learning in my students as well.
